Happy Saturday Everyone!
It's a beautiful, sunny morning here in Central California! My husband is at a teaching seminar all day and my son is with his father, so I have the whole house to myself today...ahhhhh...hear that??? Wonderful silence! Actually, someone outside is mowing, but's it's silent in here!!!I thought I would show you what I've been up to the last couple of days. I've been itching to do something in the evenings when I am just sitting on my butt watching my new favorite show...The Big Bang Theory..I love that show, they are so geeky! Both my kids are geeks (maybe I'm a little nerdy too...shhhh!), so I can totally relate!
Anyway.... I thought I would try my hand at crocheting, and I'm happy to announce...Yes, Virginia...I can still crochet after all these years! I haven't picked up a crochet hook in about 6 years! It took some trial and error...well, lots of error.... but I managed to make these three delightful dishcloths...now if I can only bring myself to actually use them!
I made them using 100% cotton yarn, and they are so soft and should wash nicely. I'm completely inspired to make an afghan now!! There is some sunny glare on the photos...sorry 'bout that...
This one is actually not quite finished...it's going to have cherries appliqued on it, but I need to make another trip to the yarn store! |
My new little vintage tin tea set!! |

Great Job! They turned out beautiful. I definitely want to make some too. Oh and we are addicted to "Big Bang" too!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Deanna. I'll say you can crochet!! Those pieces are beautiful! Have a good week,

Your dish cloths are so beautiful. My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was little. But she never told me how to read a pattern.
ReplyDeleteYou vintage tea set is just to cute for words.

They are so adorable! Love the colors you used. Must be like riding a bike, crocheting comes back to you! Do you think that red color will run? Did you use peaches and cream yarn? Mimi

ReplyDeleteGlad I stumbled across your lovely blog. I have a few crocheted potholders that I have picked-up at the thrift store. Sure wish I could learn to make some.

Your blog is so cute! Heard about it from Tin and Sparkle. Now following you!
ReplyDeleteOh my stars! Your crochet is charming. I think I would like to learn how to do that. My grandma crocheted a lot when I was a girl - I had a poncho, a vest, hangers, you name it - whatever was popular in the 70s my grandma made for me. Fun to see the colors you chose and how you put them together. Just darling!
ReplyDeleteHi Deanna, I love your crochet. I've left you an award, visit my blog and you can pick it up!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dorothy
